Fourteen paddlers in two 45 foot Hawaiian outrigger canoes will attempt to cross Bass Strait at Easter to raise money for cancer research.

The group is hoping to become the first to paddle outrigger canoes across Bass Strait and will depart from Port Welshpool in Victoria and `island-hop’ their way to Tasmania. They are planning to take 17 days for the voyage.
